The library Board of Trustee’s formed a new building committee that will oversee the RFQ (Request for Qualifications) that was released on June 12th, 2017 as well as the proposals that were received from construction companies and architects on July 14th, 2017.  This process will be a tedious one but the committee will do its due diligence to complete this task in a time sensitive manner. 

Update as of 08/02/2017

The Board of Trustee's received 8 outstanding proposals from construction companies/architects/engineers.  The Board and the Library Director used a scoring rubric to look at costs, relevant firm experience, design approach, qualifications, safety records and lastly, project controls. While all of the proposals highlighted many of these  components, the Board and Director narrowed it down to the following 3 companies (in no particular order):

      1. BA Green Construction/Gould Evans Architects

      2. Turner Construction/Hollis + Miller Architects

      3. JE Dunn Construction/Sapp Design Associates Architects, P.C.

The Board of Trustees and the Library Director will be conducting interviews with the 3 finalists in the next couple of weeks. 

Update as of 09/15/2017

The Board of Trustee's have chosen JE Dunn Construction and SAPP Design Associates Architects, P.C. As stated before a building committee has been formed that includes; Steve Skeet, Jake Dale, Brian Manus, David Frese, Meagan Vestal and the Library Director, Nicole Holifield in order to work with the design/build team, the city, and to guide the process moving forward with building the new library.  Site selection is the current task and should be wrapping up in the next couple of weeks.  In addition, we want to convey that once the site is selected, a recommendation will be giving to the city council.  We look forward to hearing from the community as we continue this process and will have open meetings for everyone to provide that feedback.  Thank you for your support!
