Colorectal cancer is the second leading cancer of Kansans and represents more than 11 percent of all newly diagnosed cancers in the state. From 2002-2006, a total of 7,244 Kansans were diagnosed with colorectal cancer and 2,719 died of the disease. Colon cancer is unique in the medical world in that when detected early before cancerous polyps can grow and spred, it can actually be cured.

Tonganoxie Reads 2010 “The Wizard of OZ” starts today.  Stop by the library for your complimentary copy courtesy of the Friends of the Library. We will have a couple of programs and movies…and a couple of special events to be named later. Keep your eyes open! Much like Dorothy and her little dog Toto there will be many surprises.
