The Library is governed by a Board of seven (7) Tonganoxie residents who have been appointed by the Mayor, plus the Mayor who serves as an ex officio board member. The appointed members serve four year terms.

Mission Statement:
The mission of the Tonganoxie Public Library is to provide a positive environment for lifelong learning and enjoyment. It strives to be the center of cultural activity, foster community partnerships and ensure that a dedicated and qualified staff provides the community with expertly selected materials and needed services and programs.

If you are a resident of Tonganoxie or one of the 14 counties that make up the Northeast Kansas Library System, you qualify for a card. We ask to see proof of address when the card is created.
Loan Periods:
Two Weeks (14 Days): Videos and DVDs
Three Weeks (21 Days): Books, Books on Tape/CD and Magazines
Renewal:
Renewals may be made in person, over the telephone or through the NExpress online catalog using your card number and PIN.
All materials may be renewed up to 2 times after the initial check-out, if no one else has requested the item.
Limits on Borrowing:
Books, Picture Books, Magazines, Videos – Unlimited
DVDs – 3
Books on Tape/CD – 5
