The Key of Knowledge: Your library card!

The Key of Knowledge

The Key of Knowledge

As a New Year begins tomorrow it is important to take stock of those things that are important to us.

In my opinion, the library card is one of the most important tools that we have. The library card wields incredible power. It entertains us, informs us, educates us, nurtures us and provides the holder of the card with unlimitless and unfettered access to knowledge.

Enjoy the New Year!

Snow Day!

Snow in the country.

Snow in the country.

With the recent snows we have had it is a good time to go over what happens at the library when it snows.

The library does stay open when it snows, however, we will close early if we feel that the conditions will make it unsafe for employees to travel home at the end of the work day. We will try to make that determination on when to close as early in the day as possible.

If for some reason the schools in Tonganoxie are closed due to snow or ice, there is a really good chance the library will be closed as well.

However, if conditions improve throughout the day, we will open as soon as possible.

The best way to check is to call us at 913-845-3281.

As always with snow and ice, our main concern is the safety of our patrons and our employees.

The Festival of Mini Trees comes to an end.

Snow falling.

Snow falling.

The Staff of the Tonganoxie Public Library would like to thank the community of Tonganoxie for donating and bidding on trees this year. We will be calling people today and letting them know that they can come pick up their tree.

As soon as we have collected the money, we will be out and about collecting games and puzzles, and a playtime rug, to make the children’s experience here at the library even more delightful.

Happy Holidays!

Royce
