Kaite’s Book Picks and Comments

Accidental Time Machine by Joe Haldeman  - Matt discovers a time machine that can take him into the future, but can’t return him to the past. Matt is accused of murder, robbed of his professional reputation and must live in a time that closely resembles medieval England. How did society devlove and how can Matt escape it.

Great Science ficiton book, has a speedy plot and is alot of fun to read. What to look for in this book is how society changes so much when we are not paying attention.

Before You Know Kindness by Chris Bohjalian - Animal rights activist and avowed pacifist Spencer McCullough is shot in the shoulder by his daughter Charlotte with a gun owned by Spencer’s brother-in-law. Two families must now face a media-frenzy of politics, courtrooms, and blame.

A book with some hot button issues like animal rights activists, family relationship drama and courtroom frenzy. What to look for in this book is the relationship with spouse, children, and how morals and values impact the lives around you.

Heartsick by Chelsea Cain - For two years Archie has lived with the physical and psychological scars from his terrifying time with Gretchen, the century’s most notorious and ruthless serial killer. Now Archie must ask Gretchen for help to catch a new killer without letting Gretchen consume his body and soul again.

The plots zips along, has a good story and the serial killer is a women. What to look for in this book is the creation of the characters and how relationships form.
