Community Halloween Party

We had hundreds of children and parents attend for the fun, games and hay rides.

Celebrating Mental & Whole Body Health Month 
Tonganoxie Public Library with  Minds and K9’s, Inc. present:

“What a Difference a Friend Makes!”

Autism  ::  Learning Disorders  ::  Depresssion  ::  Bullying

These are not behaviors or conditions people just “grow out of.”  They can and do affect all ages, even adults.  Join Minds and K9’s as we use photos, music and fun to learn about the stigma associated with childhood, and how those in turn affect us all.

We have new furniture.  Not that we didn’t love our old furniture, but it was…well, old.  We hope you like the new soft reading chairs and loveseat in the childrens area and padded kitchen-type chairs and the new cafe table in the teen area.  We hope these new pieces will last as long as the previous set did.  There are pictures on our flickr account…and only a few are staged, the rest are authentic…thank you to everyone who let us catch them using the library!

Craft Club Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. - Work on your own needlework project or join us in making a tree skirt.

Teen Read Week - Friday at 6 p.m. is Games, Gadgets and Gizmos night at the Library.  We’ll have a Wii, Guitar Hero, coffee, pizza and more!  Join the fun.

Saturday at 10:30 a.m.- Minds and K9s - “What a Difference a Friend Makes” Using photos, music and fun, learn about the stigma associated with autism, learning disorders, conduct disorders, ADD/ADHD, depression and  anxiety.
