We upgraded our CybraryN computer time management software this week to patch some security holes, but unfortunately that means the right mouse button and Start buttons are now disabled. 

Also, to ensure that the most people have access to a computer during our busy after-school hours, everyone has 45 minutes at a time between 3 and 6 p.m.

Links to all of the Microsoft Office programs, including Word and Internet Explorer, are available on the desktop.

To copy and paste text and pictures, please use the key combination “Ctrl+c” to copy and “Ctrl+v” to paste, or highlight what you want to copy and select “File > Copy” and “File > Paste” from the menu bar at the top of every Office program.

Novel Readers book discussion group is on their third book    “One Thousand White Women”      by: Jim Fergus.  The last book read Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult was given very high marks for a “good read“! They will be meeting Monday, October 1 at 7:00 p.m. to discuss this book and pick out a new one. Come and enjoy some refreshments and good discussion.

Library will be closed for Labor Day.

Carolyn Courtney, programming assistant, is starting a new book club at the the Library - “The Novel Readers.”  Join us to discuss One Thousand White Women by Jim Fergus on Monday, October 1 at 7 p.m.   More information about the group is on our Readers page.

We were given the opportunity to update the look of our Web site to something equally blue, but a little more polished, so we decided that it was time for a change.  This site is a WordPress blog, which means it is very easy to update the look of the site.  

Some pages have been consolidated, for example the Tax Preparation Links are now on the Information/Reference page, but everything is still here…somewhere…in a box, maybe under the stairs?

According to a recent article by Alan Fram, one in four adults say they read no books at all in the past year.  Shocking!  The biggest readers according to this Associated Press-Ipsos poll, women and seniors were the most avid readers.  The poll reinforces what we already knew - popular fiction and religious works were the top picks.
